Guest Preacher this Sunday! Join us at Saint Ann's By The Sea in Kennebunkport. 8am - outdoor Chapel 10am- inside the Old Stone Chapel Dear Friends, We've just learned that The Rev. Allison Read and her family won't be able to visit St. Ann's this weekend as planned, as her husband had emergency surgery. The good news is that we will welcome a wonderful substitute for Allison: The Rev. Peter Walsh, a wonderfully engaging person and priest, who was unable to join us the last two summers when invited to be our guest preacher. Peter has been the Rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in New Canaan, CT since 2008. Earlier he served as Rector of All Saints' Episcopal Church and Day School in Phoenix, AZ; Associate Rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Cleveland Heights, OH; and Chaplain at the Kent School. Peter is married to Jennifer White Walsh and has five grown children: Sam, Ben, Olivia, Gus, and Phineas. He grew up in Delmar, New York, a small town outside of Albany, and graduated from the Hotchkiss School, Harvard College, and Yale Divinity School. We look forward to welcoming Peter and his wife, Jennifer, on Sunday! Peter The Rev. Peter G. Cheney Chaplain

Thank You to all the Dogs who came to St Ann's By The Sea 4th annual Blessing of the Animals on July 20. And thanks for bringing your humans! Many of them made a donation to the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk. Here is Co-chair Sylvia Peers handing over a check from St Ann's to Kerrie Leclaire, Director of Development who was very happy to receive the donation. We look forward to seeing everybody July 18, 2020 next summer for the 5th Blessing of the Animals! And we would love Horses, an Oreo Cow and Alpaca next year!
And... For those of you who asked if Michael W Smith would be in church today...

Eagerly awaiting the start of the Michael W Smith Tribute Concert to George and Barbara Bush in Kennebunk this evening.
This evening's Michael W Smith Tribute Concert, in honor of George and Barbara Bush, was amazing. With a sell out crowd of 400, just Michael and a Grand Piano on the stage, It was an intimate concert with poignant and revealing personal stories in between beautiful songs. One story that was particularly touching... Michael W Smith shared that 6 weeks after 9/11, he was in the Oval Office with George W Bush - who suggested to Michael that he write a song in tribute to the heroes of 9/11. Michael said he responded to the President (who was in the first row this evening at the Kennebunk High School Theater): "I will try." Michael went on to share that a few months later, he was at home gazing up at his large American Flag flying on his farm in Franklin Tennessee. And this song came to him. Here it is: https://youtu.be/Nj9Fa6IFM8Q
We are all excited for the Michael W Smith Tribute Concert Tonite in the NEW Kennebunk High School Theater at 7pm. And YES - we held back a handful of tickets to sell At The Door. Less than 20 tickets remain - so get there early please.
